Aaron, The A's Fan
Born to a San Francisco Giants-loving mother and a sports-agnostic father, Aaron, the A's Fan has had to endure gravely trying times to overcome the suffocating embrace of the orange and black menace. After suffering through many years of watching mediocre baseball being played in the "city by the bay", he went off in search of a new team to cheer for... and he found it.

He ultimately found what he had always been searching for: a team of underdogs that the masses refused to believe in because of their small payroll, small market and even smaller, though ravenously loyal, fanbase. After seeing the team's continued success, it was plain to see that this underestimation is proof more of their critics' "small minded-ness" than the team's playing ability. The one thing that drew him to the team even more than any other factor was that this team played the game the right way -- with heart and passion; a team for the common man: The Oakland A's.

Dusty Brian
Growing up in the southern Oregon town of Medford, the only baseball teams I had any exposure to as a kid were the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland A's. Since our town also had a short-season single-A minor league team in Oakland's farm system (the Medford A's, later known as the Southern Oregon Timberjacks), my natural pull was to follow the A's.

Now, however, there is much more of an appreciation for the A's. I appreciate the way they seem to contend every year, while being in one of the smallest markets. I appreciate they way they develop their young talent. But most of all, I appreciate that, for some reason, their teams always play the game with heart.
